Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela, the Nivin Pauly starred flick smashed theatres here in today. Creating a space through the characters and conveying something emotional is sometimes the purpose of a cinema and the director of the film Althaf Salim has done that. Last year we had Anuraaga Karikkin Vellam and Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela seems like its equivalent for this year. Realistic treatment and soulful story line makes this movie is a really enjoyable entertainer.

Plot Of The Story.

Kurian an NRI who wasn’t doing anything great with his life in London comes to his home town when he got a call from his mother. He thought it was for marriage purpose. But when he came, he and entire family were taken aback by the shocking news from his mother. How the family faces this situation is what the movie talking about.

Cast And Performance.

Nivin Pauly who has played the lazy son act in other films too comfortably becomes Kurian. Lal as the father was really good. Whoever decided to cast Ahaana and Srinda for the roles of the siblings deserves appreciation . Siju Wilson and Krishna Shankar are there in characters with screen space. Sharafudheen, Dileesh Pothan, Antony Kochi and Saiju Kurupp are there in supporting cast. Heroine Aishwarya Lakshmi doesn’t have much screen space here to prove herself. The best among the lot was Shanti Krishna who played the role of the brave mother with elegant.

Technical Side.

Althaf Salim has proved that he is a good filmmaker with his debut film itself. He has co-written the film with George Kora. The narration of the film comparatively different from the other family dramas. The director and writer deserves a pat on their shoulders for breaking a few stereotypes of story telling. Mukesh Muralidharan’s cinematography was really good, the transition shots were excellent. The cuts were also in perfect beats. Music by Justin Varghese was soft and perfect for the situations. Overall Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela won’t look like a debutant’s work. Congratulations to Althaf Salim on that note.

Overall.

Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela is almost a must watch because it will definitely give you some new ways to look at a major entity on our world. It will put a smile on your face and it will give you hope about life. The movie doesn’t have a “message”ic dialogue or monologue but on a whole it will give you a big message. It is a double thumbs up for this light-hearted yet powerful movie. Once again congratulations to the makers.
