Tovino Thomas brings the Christmas present to all the movie lovers with his movie, Mayaanadhi. There were many rumours which we heard before the release and now it has finally hit the theatres. The movie has many things to talk about and let’s get right into it. Amal Neerad has given the story and it has taken off with Trisha Krishnan rejecting the female lead which went directly into the hands of Aishwarya Lekshmi.

Plot of the story.

Mayaanadhi is a thrilling love story between Mathan, whose origin is from Madurai, and Aparna, based out of Cochin. Cast and performance.

Tovino does brilliant Performance as Mathen, One of the characters he has played so far. Aishwarya as Aparna translates onto the screen the travails of a young woman, hailing from a troublesome family, in pursuit of her dreams. The intensity of the couple’s relations is portrayed very well that the film even has two spells of lip-lock, a rarity in Malayalam cinema. We don’t have to say about Tovino Thomas who excelled in his role. The performance seemed to be more realistic than acting. The female lead, Aishwarya has done a fabulous job with her character and she has a long way to go in the industry. Coming to direction, this is one of the best we can see in a film with beautiful picturization and scenic locations, gives the movie a grand look.

Technical side.

Aashiq Abu applies the realistic treatment style to a romantic story and the output he has managed to get is something so endearing. The lack of melodrama in the behaviour of characters makes it look so rea and relatable. The roughness and the sincerity in showing the human side of characters is what make Mayaanadhi so captivating. Syam Pushkaran is someone who prefers minimalism and that is something that pushes the viewer to explore the characters even after the movie. The physical relationship is a something that main stream cinema avoids and kudos to this film for depicting that in a very aesthetic way. The characters here have some statements to make about a lot of things including social and religious behaviours. The trust debate happening in the last quarter also invites the viewer in to a conversation. Beautifully captured frames and soulful music only makes it even more beautifu.

Overall.

Mayanadhi , a simple and beautiful love story with clean climax, one of the best movie of Aashiq Abu.
